Borehole well drilling at Chagu Village – Kigoma

This project is based in Chagu Village, Mtegowanoti ward, Uvinza district, Kigoma region in Tanzania with a population of about 10,000 people.

Currently, individuals living in Chagu have to walk over 2 kilometres to obtain water from nearby lakes and existing shallow water wells. Chagu Village experiences a dry season starting from July to January.

The Community of Chagu Village, the Primary School and the existing Medical Clinic do not have access to water for their daily use, they are fetching water from the nearby lake – Nyamagoma.

Women and children endanger their lives by going to fetch water from the existing Nyamagoma Lake, which has many Crocodiles.

Engineering for Health

The mission is to inspire, educate, Transform and raise the biomedical engineering community to improve healthcare delivery in Tanzania.

Kits and Stem Programs for School-Age Grade 5 – 12: – Introduce the next generation to biomedical engineering and global health, Students as Volunteers will have time to have sponsored outreach programs.

Kits and Stem Programs for Youth; Advanced High School and Universities:

Development of innovative health technologies and to improve the lives of people in the Communities through serving engineering students, and healthcare professionals Volunteer Program;

To improve health of people in the Communities through sustainable solutions by repairing and servicing critical medical devices and equipment, Working in partnership with local hospitals, and educational institutions.

Outreach

  • Providing reliable, serviced and calibrated medical diagnosis devices and equipment to local communities
  • Establish STEM for Volunteers on servicing and calibration of Biomedical diagnosis devices and Equipment (University Level, College level, High School Level).

Rainwater Harvesting at KCMC

Safe Clean Drinking Water Filtration System for Collegian Sister’s Orphanage Schools – Morogoro

The primary objective of this project was to research, develop, and implement effective water filtration technologies that can remove contaminants and provide safe drinking water to communities in need.

This project has the potential to create a significant positive impact by providing access to safe drinking water, thereby improving public health outcomes and reducing waterborne diseases. The implementation of sustainable filtration technologies had empowered communities to take control of their water resources and contribute to the overall development of the region.
