Who we are

EWB –Tanzania is a registered Non-Profit Organization in Tanzania and it is a member of EWB-International. It is a community of professional engineers and motivated non engineering professionals providing real life applications and engineering solutions to human needs and partnering with local communities through implementation of sustainable community development projects in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to improve people’s life, while promoting experience for engineers and engineering students within Tanzania.

Our Objectives

Projects coordinated by EWB-Tanzania are grassroots. EWB – Tanzania will ensure that projects undertaken will not compete with private engineering firms. EWB – Tanzania provides its members, affiliates, and partner organizations a unique opportunity.

The objectives of establishing EWB-Tanzania include;

Bring together engineers, students, and anyone passionate about helping communities in development projects and improving their quality of life. EWB–Tanzania will focus on education and implementing sustainable engineering projects at the grassroots level.
Develop partnerships on community projects; We connect, educate, and empower people through human-centered engineering – a people-centered, strengths-based approach to improve community health, well-being, and opportunity.
Train and connect engineering professionals and students in Tanzania through different areas of expertise.
Educating future engineers, and encouraging them to join the Organization for the benefit of people and the community. Educating current engineers so they develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to engineer sustainably.
Contribute to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through capacity building in local projects. To redefine the purpose and impact of engineering practice as a critical enabler of sustainable development in communities. Outside of the engineering sector, engineering is not well understood, as it is not well understood, it can be inaccessible to other disciplines that need to work together with engineers to tackle some of the biggest global challenges facing our society and environment.
Collaborate on community projects and training programs (Engineering Innovation)
Share ideas, experiences, technical knowledge, and documentation. Work with our extended network internationally and in Tanzania, with industry, with governments, with the academic sector, with other for-purpose organizations, and with our community, alumni, and volunteers to share learning, to influence, and to drive our belief that the practice of conscious engineering, is possible.
Coordinate Student Exchanges, Internships, and Professional Volunteers.
Address more global issues and projects; clean energy, climate adaptation, environmental, etc.
Create synergy between members; EWB – Tanzania will adopt an inclusive and collaborative culture attracting engineers and non-engineers and take advantage of the diversity of skills, backgrounds, cultures, and experiences in community development projects.
